Lesson Fee
The lesson fee is prepaid to reserve your spot. Each student is required to pay in full each month regardless of how many lessons you will miss. Payment is due the first week of each month. A $3.00 late charge will be added after 2nd week of each month. If you have to miss a lesson the first week of a month, you need to make payment at the end of the previous month to avoid late payments.
Cancellation or Missed Lesson
Lessons will only be rescheduled if you notify the instructor 48 hours in advance. Failure to give the instructor a 48-hour notice, lessons will not be re-scheduled, and lesson fees will not be refunded or credited. If the student is sick on the day of a lesson, please contact the instructor as soon as possible to reschedule a make-up lesson. Absolutely no make-up lesson if a student misses a lesson without any notice. If a student chooses not to have a make-up lesson, the student still needs to pay for the lesson because tuition pays for the spot the teacher reserve for you. Lesson fees will only be credited if the teacher is out of town or unable to give a lesson. If a student has to miss 3 or more weeks of lessons for vacation, there will be no guarantee that your spot will be reserved; unless you still pay for the lessons to keep your spot.
Musical Instruments and Materials
Students should practice on a full size well-maintained acoustic piano. The piano should be serviced and tuned at least twice yearly. A metronome is required to be used during practice.
Termination of Lessons
Parents or students are required to notify the instructor at least two weeks in advance to terminate lessons.
Dismissal
Students may be dismissed from the studio for the following reasons: lack of practice and participation (including recitals and auditions), excessive absence at lessons, rudeness, disrespectful behavior, or failure to pay tuition.
Recitals, Auditions, and Competitions
Students are strongly encouraged to participate in recitals, auditions, and competitions. Studio Recitals are held yearly. There will be auditions and competitions throughout the year. The instructor will only allow students to participate in the auditions and competitions if the students are willing to commit to practice. If any student is not well-prepared before the auditions or competitions, the student will be discouraged from performing in the auditions or competitions.
Practice Requirement
Each student is expected to practice every day. Parents are encouraged to assist the students at home daily if the students are under the age of 10. Before auditions, competitions, and recitals, the students should increase their practice time.
